This house sets in a rural context near the base of the Aspen Highlands Ski Resort. It is broken into five structures, linked by a series of glazed walkways, and nestled into the site revealing little to the public. The buildings that are linked by these structures are classically proportioned and strategically placed to maximize mountain views. Several Pitkin County lodges and rural compounds of the late 20th century were studied, most notably the Music School, in an attempt to keep the building within a regional architectural vocabulary. The structures have a strong neoclassical influence, not unlike the Bavarian and Scandinavian mountain houses of the same era.
