Destined for the wrecking ball and originally marketed as a tear down, 721 Meadowood Drive revives Aspen’s modernism. Hidden beneath layers of 80’s and 90’s remodels of mirror, glass, iron and mahogany was the original architect’s, Robert “Bob” Sterling and Jack Walls, innovative design. The house, originally designed and built in 1969, was a time capsule waiting to be exposed. In the spirit of true American Modernism the house’s clean Architecture was connected to its organic surroundings by blending modern treatments of poured concrete and cement board with more earthy materials of black gravel and weathered oak.
